Our Story

Born from Norse
Tradition

Viking Cock Mead wasn't born in a boardroom — it was born in a kitchen, with a pot of honey, a curiosity about ancient recipes, and a stubborn refusal to accept that mead couldn't be made here, in the heart of upstate New York.

We draw from over 3,000 years of mead-making history, blending techniques from the sagas with the terroir of the Southern Tier. Our honey comes from local apiaries. Our water runs clean from the region. And our baked goods? They're crafted to complement every pour.

Craft & Process

From Hive to Hand

Every bottle of Viking Cock Mead follows a path shaped by patience, precision, and respect for the craft.

01

Source the Honey

We partner with local apiaries across the Southern Tier, selecting raw, unprocessed honey that captures the season's character.

02

Blend & Infuse

Honey meets spring water, then the magic happens — botanicals, fruits, or spices are added to shape each unique profile.

03

Ferment & Age

Time does the rest. Our meads ferment slowly and age in food-grade vessels, developing depth and complexity.

04

Bottle & Serve

Each batch is hand-labeled and bottled. Then it's ready — to share, to savor, to remember.
